Disclaimer: hold the judgement/panic until after you give the track a chance. Yes, it’s a dance remix of a classic. I tend to err on the side of avoiding remixes of classic songs, from any genre. But from time to time to time we’ve seen that it can be done in a tasteful and creative way. This is one of those instances. Toronto producer Deebs has chopped up some Lauryn Hill vocals from “Doo Wop (That Thing)” to create an interesting dance oriented rework on the track. It’s been a month since it’s first hit the web, but I was recently turned on to it from a previous podcast from London’s Rinse.FM. Better a little late than never, right?
