Laura Mvula is the latest artist to the remix treatment from Shlohmo, who recently overhauled a track by Electric Guest and announced a tour with xxyyxx. And before he sets out on the road at the end of October, I’m hoping the Bay Area producer can treat us to more flips like “She”. This is perhaps Shlohmo at his most accessible, especially considering he allows the original song’s vocals to come through toward the end. It’s drenched in codeine and noise like you’d expect, but not in a subversive way.
