We’re admittedly a bit late to the whole Lana Del Rey hypetrain, but that’s mostly because we’re not completely compelled/fascinated by her work. Yeah, she has some nice pipes, but all the, um, bullshit controversy kind of left us aggravated. That was until we found this great remix of her single “Video Games” by Balam Acab. To say we’re not completely taken by the combination of her vocals and the soaring, layered production would be a lie. A dirty lie. Because this is just lovely.

Yeah it’s this whole thing where she couldn’t make it as a “mainstream” singer and then was transformed into an indie singer.
Are people complaining that in Lana Del Rey’s case, there actually seems to be some A&Ring that took place? If so, then that’s ridiculous–even if she is a supposed, “indie-implant”.
