If the name Kypski is familiar to you, chances are you’re pretty damn into turntablism and heard his well-known project with C-Mon. If not, here’s a primer: Kypski is a Dutch producer/DJ with a slew of accolades to his name. In addition to winning the Dutch DMC Finals, he has been crowned the National Turntable Champion of Netherlands four times. Yeah, dude’s got some skills on the ones and twos, but his talents don’t end there.
Kypski can make some killer instrumental music, too, which is evident on new single “Wreck Fader.” It’s the title track off his upcoming album, which drops is due out in mid October on Lowriders, and it’s a collaboration with legendary DJ/Low End Theory resident D-Styles. The two cause some serious damage with this one, and hip-hop heads will no doubt love the flip of a sample from Eric B. & Rakim‘s “I Ain’t No Joke” that serves as the backbone of “Wreck Fader.”
You can stream the track below. Wreck Fader drops Oct. 16.
