Kirvy returns with a new project that further demonstrates the burgeoning talent of this relatively unknown Philippines-based producer. It’s in line with previous work we have heard from him, including last December’s Twing. That means the drums are nice and dust-covered, the vocals are soaked in effects (and sometimes plenty of codeine), and everything blends together like you’re spinning this on a turntable. The big difference on AeYu Vol. 1, though, is that it’s all about remixes. Most notable is the bubbling remix of Ahmad’s classic single, “Back In The Day”, which just might leave you reaching for your copy of the rapper’s 1994 self-titled debut.
