You’re in a dark setting. There are museum-y things around you. A distorted Pharrell kicks in through the speakers; it’s Jaw Jam’s remix of “Mr. Me Too”. This will be an interesting night of music. Except it won’t be. Because unfortunately like me, you probably won’t be at Keyboard Kid‘s Friday show at The New Museum in New York City. But fortunately, the mix that he and Darwin put together for the occasion is still satisfying to listen to in your not-so-dark setting. But songs from the pair, Balam Acab, and Hype Williams really do fit better in a dimly lit room filled with museum-y things, like mammoth tusks, or post-modern art. So, I guess us unfortunates ultimately lose.
