AliveSinceForever is very much alive and well. The introspective, stylistically segmented hip-hop crew has overseen successful releases in recent months (ringleader Dom McLennon’s Thesis; MiC Kurb’s stellar Destination Nowhere EP), and the tremendous rap collective has blessed us once again with yet another audible treat in the form of 17-year-old Kevin Abstract’s “Save”.
The Romil-produced record features reverb-soaked drum clashes and melodic background singing EQ’d to the depths of despair. Abstract shares a sobering story with acute detail and emotional sharpness, inviting the listener to take a stroll through the shrouded memories of his family life. For an artist so young, Kevin has already proven himself capable of so much. Greatness is knocking at the emcee’s door. Stay tuned for more.
