Keep Shelly In Athens – “Hauntin’ Me”

I think it’s safe to say Greece’s Keep Shelly In Athens is one of our favorite acts. And for me, I actually instantly adored them because of their name. That doesn’t typically happen, so that’s why I felt it was necessary to note it here. But my rambling aside, the duo just dropped of the title-track from their forthcoming Hauntin’ Me 7-inch single. It might be another sultry and sensual pop jam from Keep Shelly In Athens, but what’s wrong with that?

You know what you guys really need? Some sort of recap at the end of each month, giving the Cliffs Notes of the 5-10 best tracks or albums from that month that readers should not miss.

Why am I saying that? Because I just listened to this track, and it’s awesome. And then I went back to your old posts, where you SAID they were awesome, and downloaded those (plus the rest of the album), and those were awesome too. But I’m upset I missed all this for so long. I try to keep up, but those a lot of material you publish, and obviously it’s tough for readers to sift through even what you’ve already sifted through. And I wonder how many other gems I’ve let slip through the cracks that I’m sure, if you were there to tell me, you’d warn me “don’t miss this one!”

I realize you’ve got a few features like that already. But I think a month-by-month “best-of” recap (the number published decided by merit, not predetermined) would help readers a lot.

Anyway, I guess all that (hopefully) constructive criticism is my way of thanking you for turning me on to Keep Shelly, because these songs are pretty sweet. So, either way, keep up the awesome work. At this point, I probably 50% rely on you and David to point me towards quality releases.
