Some of our favorite producers here at Potholes have been inspired by the work of video game composers like Koji Kondo (The Legend of Zelda), Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), and Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears). And as a means of paying tribute, we’ve heard those same producers flip select cuts off soundtracks put together by those aforementioned composers.
But Los Angeles’ Julian Wass decided to take it one step further and enlisted a crew of like-minded artists to create MITSUDA. It honors his work by way of some gorgeous instrumentals crafted by Keyboard Kid, Ryan Hemsworth, and Wass himself. We’re proud to premiere his track, “Omoide”, which sounds straight out of a contemplative, transitional moment in a classic RPG. Don’t be surprised if it leaves you feeling inspired and prepared for anything.
You can stream and/or download “Omoide” below.
