It’s been a minute since we previously heard from Columbus, Ohio-based producer Jon Rogers. If that name looks unfamiliar, chances are you will recognize him as Maggz. We were huge fans of his 2012 EP with Omari T., which actually made our roundup of that year’s best instrumental projects. But Maggz was forced to change his name due to conflicts with another artist and just went with his government name.
That brings us to (complex)ions: MAUVE’, a jazz-heavy and mostly instrumental EP that boasts some seriously wavy cuts. There’s also an intro track produced by previous collaborator Nick Wisdom, who impressed with his Big Shiny House EP earlier this year.
