Jon Hope has been one on hell of a roll since last year’s Somekind of Wonderful release. To be fair, he was killing it before then, but I felt that EP really encapsulated what he was trying to say. It was an organic, lyrical, and moving piece that still gets played by me to this day. Apparently, his forthcoming effort, Waterfire: Collection of Emotions, is sounding like its built upon the foundation of Somekind of Wonderful while further showing Hope’s progression as an MC. Here we have “Pressure”, the latest leak from the project. And it’s another solid track that’s making me think Waterfire (an ode to a night-time Providence event) might be my soundtrack for the coming months.
