As we previously reported, a new posthumous Jimi Hendrix album is on the way. It’s called People, Hell & Angels and it’s set to arrive March 5 with 12 previously unreleased tracks from the guitar god’s studio sessions between the years 1968 and 1970. The thing is, not every track on here is brand-new, per se. Take the latest leak, “Earth Blues”, for example: this is merely an alternate take on a tune that has been floating around for a while. It appeared most notably on the 2000 box set The Jimi Hendrix Experience, though, of course, in a different and longer form. So, from a technical standpoint, this is previously unreleased; it’s just not “new.”
