This isn’t the first time Kid Smpl has remixed Jhené Aiko before, a couple months ago he completely dismantled “3:16am” into something entirely different from the original. Recently he shared another Jhené remix, this time of “Growing Apart Too” and even more so this time it seems like his goal is to remove any semblance of her original voice in this densely layered production. Kid Smpl’s music to this point has been bare bones night time music, here he trades in some of that minimalism for a beautiful build up and release of tension.
