I’m enjoying this (relatively) new trend of artists releasing new singles without going through the typical cycle of stream-download-video. Los Angeles songstress Jhene Aiko, for example, opted to just go for it with “Burning Man (3:16pm)”, a carefree, drugs-heavy jam indebted to the hedonistic event of the same name. The same can be said for the visuals, which center on Aiko and her friends getting faded by a fire and dancing on the beach. There are also some clips of her live performances that I’ve heard only keep getting better.
