We first fell in love with British songbird Jessie Ware when she shared a stream of her “110%” single. It was a minimalist pop romp with a mild bounce. It caressed our ears gently, never bursting into oblivion or reaching a true peak. Instead, the focus remained on Ware’s harmonies and the untouchable Big Pun-sampling production.
Since then, Ware’s star has begun to properly shine. Her debut, Devotion, remains in my rotation and was one of our favorites of 2012. And today, we’re coming full circle with “110%”, which has since been retooled—Pun’s folks weren’t having it with the sample—and renamed as “If You’re Never Gonna Move”.
