So, this Jesse Boykins fella, he’s a soulful cat. Everybody gets a case of the Mondays. Office Space, anybody? Boykins III seems to be having one of those days in “Light to Dark”. Okay, I’m not so dense to think that’s what this song’s message is (I’m smarter than that, right?) The track is off of his summer EP Way of the Wayfarer. He takes us on a journey from his dank apartment to subway stops to train tracks. This artsy visual interpretation feels right at home with Boykins light-to-dark vocals.
