L.A. electronic label Brainfeeder continues to serve up healthy portions of mind-stretching music. This time it’s in the form of rapper Jeremiah Jae and his Lunch Special Pt. 4 mixtape. Jae’s word-associations and linguistic leaps will leave you scratching your head while the beats from Fly-Lo and Raga will keep your head nodding. Some of the beats are avant-garde out there, but still effective; a credit to both Brainfeeder’s genre-bending sensibilities and the label’s implicit trust in its intelligent listeners.
