You know when you stumble upon an artist you at first think is new but actually has racked up some plays in your iTunes on the low? No? Well, fine, but that’s what happened to me with Madison, Wisc.-based rapper JDante. We actually posted about him more than a year ago when he was linking with Potholes fave Man Mantis on the Whole New World EP. Since then, Dante’s clearly been working on some different material, including the appropriately titled SoulSearch EP. If you consider yourself a fan of soulful beats and honest lyricism, Dante’s your dude. If you need a confirmation, just peep the JuSoul-produced “Different”. You’ll dig. Promise.
