Jay Electronica – “The Announcement”

After being courted by a number of major labels for the past few years including Bad Boy, Jay Electronica signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation this past weekend. Does this mean the mystical Act II will finally see a release date? Only time will tell. As of Saturday we do know that there is a Jay-Z & Jay Electronica collaboration on the way called “Shiny Suit Theory”. Considering he didn’t sign with Diddy that song title is too ironic. His new joint, “The Announcement”, features vocals from former president John F. Kennedy on the intro. If you’re familiar with Jay Electronica’s music, you’re well aware he uses movie dialogue and famous speeches to bring his music to life. The beat is sinister with some great drums but ultimately his wordplay steals the show on “The Announcement”. Shout out to Rap Radar.
