Jarred A.G. hails from Chicago, where the hip-hop scene only seems to get stronger and more diverse by the minute. While Chief Keef leads the drill scene and Chance The Rapper blends boom-bap, juke and bluesy rap, Jarred resides in a more blunted cavern of the Windy City rap infrastructure. His new single, “So I Go”, has a gangster-ish vibe to it, though it’s certainly more weeded than menacing. A big reason for that is Smoko Ono’s instrumental, which allows for Jarred to flex his versatile delivery that’s equal parts laid-back and rapid-fire. You know, like a young Twista.
