Next week we’ll be sharing our review of Janelle Monae‘s new album, The Electric Lady, so I’ll keep my opinions on it to myself for now. Well, sort of. I’m really fond of the Solange-assisted title track, which has been remixed by two of Monae’s musical heroes, Big Boi and Cee-Lo Green. They show up for some serviceable verses—yes, that means Cee-Lo is rapping—though the best portion comes toward the end when the funky, talk box-effected vocals work their way into the mix. Can we get more of that in rap songs again? Please? Thanks!
