I know I don’t speak for everyone, but Jamie xx‘s solo material has been far more enticing than that of his band the xx. That isn’t to say the group’s work isn’t top-notch, but it looks like Jamie’s ability to express himself multiplies tenfold when he finds himself in the studio by himself. As is the case on a track like “Sleep Sound”, which is built on whimsical percussion and vocal samples. The deep grooves found throughout this track are unparalleled, and they are now met with equally touching visuals. And let me tell you, they are absolutely perfect for this bit of audio.
