After premiering on James Blake’s BBC Radio 1 show, Jamie xx has taken it upon himself to debut the official audio of his latest single “Girl”. The grooving tune isn’t exactly like what we have heard from the producer in the past, as it is built on a slightly more analog vibe. Set more in the tune of ’80s pop, a beating bass backdrop serves as a background to distance vocal samples. It is a lovely tune, and it sees xx experimenting with new sounds.
It will be part of the “Girl”/”Sleep Sound” single release, which will be dropping May 5.
