As we wait anxiously for the release of James Blake‘s Overgrown, the man behind the music drops off some animated visuals for single “Voyeur“. Starting off rather simply with the spin of the record, things gradually become darker and more mind-bending, until an explosion of color takes over the screen. Mirroring the morphing audio perfectly. Blake plans on dropping “Voyeur” as part of a single with “And The Holy Ghost” later this month on his label 1-800-Dinosaur. “Voyeur” will also land on Overgrown, which is due out April 9.
In other news, Blake has apparently been in talks with Kendrick Lamar to collaborate. While nothing has been laid down just yet, Blake’s partner at 1-800-Dinosaur explained how he and the Compton rapper met in a new interview with Juno Plus:
We met Kendrick Lamar and his manager Dave at SXSW and hung out and discussed a potential collaboration with James. If that was to come off then it would be great to release it via 1-800-Dinosaur and their label Top Dawg Entertainment in the States. It’s pure conjecture at the moment though, as everyone is too busy with touring commitments. The TDE setup is inspiring and something I’d like to replicate with 1-800, they’re like a modern day Death Row. It’s a long ball game. I find the whole hand stamped ltd 12″ idea to be about as limited as beards, beanies and tattoos in East London so we won’t be going down that road.
