The elegant MC from Chicago, Jahzel, put together a solid effort on his introspective album In God’s Image, which dropped the other day. Drawing from the “soulfulness of the city’s musical past,” the artist made a point to cover the range of emotions cycled within his past. He succeeds for the most part with this endeavor, utilizing an attitudinal approach to tackle the tracks he articulates wonderfully upon. Over some fairly provocative production, Jahzel strings together some consistent bars that you’ll have to pay attention to in order to fully appreciate them; they’re spectacularly smart.
