J Rocc – “Play This (Also)” [Video]

J Rocc, Stones Throw artist, DJ, and former PSK member, is still scratching that itch I have for real, hands-on, crates and records DJing. “Play This (Also)”, a recent addition to his lengthy catalog, doesn’t necessarily need a video. Just listen. It’s a chase scene in its own rite, a nod perhaps to Bond’s The Spy Who Loved Me or Henry Mancini’s “Police Woman“. Whatever the case, the track moves forward pursuing its assailant, in this case, a B&E criminal, driving on funky guitar riffs and orchestral blasts. The music grows slowly, as any chase, heating up as the suspense of capture builds. And, the climax is a punch in the face. J Rocc brings 70s cop shows to life and with a video that’s hilariously fitting.
