J-Live is getting ready to drop the follow-up to S.P.T.A. (Said Person of That Ability), his 2011 concept album that I’m sure too many heads slept on. His next full-length is Around The Sun and even though it doesn’t have a concrete release date just yet, we should be hearing it in the spring of 2014. In addition to that announcement, J-Live shared the lead single, “Money Matters”. It’s a contemplative cut produced by Oddisee, who brings a jazzy/soulful vibe to the track that looks into the ways that money truly matters in all of our lives.

I don’t know exactly what it is… but Live sounds asleep to me. The beginning is boring, and he’s normally amazing at controlling tension, but when he tries to elevate it at the end it sounds weak.
Or maybe I just had high expectations, idk.
