Let’s face it, the last thing we need is yet another social platform to discover music. We have Hype Machine, Spotify, Pandora, Last.fm, and many other services that seem to do the job just fine. With that said, Weavir still seemed to catch our eye. After checking out the promotional video above, you will see that direct artist and fan connection is a driving force in the theoretical platform, which can become a reality thanks to your funding.
Founder and CEO Sam Schoonover first approached our site a few months ago, hoping to grab our support in becoming an exclusive content provider and curator on the site, if it were to actually come to being. Since then, we have seen awesome sites like The Needle Drop, We All Want Someone To Shout For, We Listen For You, and more sign on to the project, in hopes of reaching the lofty $100,000 goal to fund the project. It sounds a bit crazy, but who knows, this might be the music discovery platform we have all been looking for.
