Wow. File this track under “I did not know what to expect but was unbelievably impressed from start to finish.” Inspired Flight is the duo of turntablist OpenOptics and guitarist/songwriter Chavez. And they make some of the finest trip-hop I’ve heard in quite a while. Their music is more like a hypnotic blend of the Gorillaz, Thievery Corporation, and Telefon Tel Aviv to my ears, so it’s not necessarily trip-hop, but more experimental, hip-hop-influenced electronic music. I use those three acts as examples because like the Gorillaz, there are several collaborations with rappers on this duo’s debut, We All Want to Fly, such as Scarub, Eligh, and Inspectah Deck. The last of those three actually appears on the album’s woozy, epic title-track that builds and builds until Deck comes through to spit a quick verse for the conclusion of the song and record. Quite an ending.

I love seeing this band live. They can put you in a trance like Radiohead but you can dance the whole time. This albums became on of my favorites after one listen.
Oh my lord. Deck hasn’t sounded this raw in a while. The production on this is flawless as well. My lord. Can’t wait for this to drop. xD
Awesome! Can’t wait to hear what you think about the album! Thanks Andrew!
