Upon listening to up and coming producer Ifan Dafydd’s “No Good” the first thought through your mind might be “Wow, this sounds a hell of a lot like James Blake.” And yes, it does. However, the track is much more than a blatant copy of the early Blake sound. Emotive vocal chops of the late Amy Winehouse along with dizzying synths help this track shine in all it’s glitchy, post-dubstep (or whatever it’s called) glory. Ifan already has cosigns from some of the scene’s biggest players from Gilles Peterson to Jamie XX, and if this track is any indication, he’ll be making some waves in the future. Although the track has circulated for a few months, it’s now getting a proper 12″ vinyl release.
