I first heard of Idle Warship a few years back during a Talib Kweli live set when he brought out Res and Graph Nobel to perform a couple of cuts. Not to be harsh, but those few cuts happened to have represented the worst minutes of the show. After a few years though, and endless promotion, it looks like the trio is gaining some respect in both the hip-hop and pop genres — and they have even come to the point of officially announcing the release of their debut full-length as well. “Laser Beams” serves as one of the singles on the album, a catchy rhythm that seems to have been the sound they were aiming for since the beginning. Habits of the Heart will be available Oct. 24.
