Every mood and mind state can match a certain genre of music or a specific song perfectly. For those moments when you feel vexed and angered, consider Ibn Inglor your go-to guy. Chicago’s isolationist hip-hop artist released “Cold Storm” as a part of his soul rattling free album, New Wave, last September, and the track seemed destined for a dark visual treatment.
Sure enough, Inglor worked with director Andre Muir to deliver a captivating video entirely constructed by near-demonic graphic effects. Blurred clouds of blood red wash over the frame, only relenting to let a similarly colored (and fractionally visible) Ibn control the viewer’s attention thanks to a sheer power translated onscreen-like a transmission from the future in which a godly pharaoh speaks his mind.
Watch “Cold Storm” below, and brace yourself for New Wave 2.
