IAMOMNI & Tricky – IAMOMNI [Album]

When I received this album in my mailbox a few weeks ago, one name jumped out at me instantly: Tricky. Yes, that Tricky. The very same Tricky who has collaborated with the likes of Massive Attack, Bjork, PJ Harvey, DMX, Gravediggaz, and so many others produced the entirety of Los Angeles-based rapper IAMOMNI’s latest project. The self-titled affair is a dark, highly engaging listen filled with dense, layered production and intense lyricism. There’s also a nice lil’ surprise on track four, “We Need You”, for all you Nujabes fans out there.
