There has been a ton of great music dropping over the past week, and I am still getting around to sharing it here on Potholes. The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble‘s fabulous cover of Outkast’s down-to-Mars funk epic “Spottieottiedopalicious” is one of those pieces. The studio-quality recording by the Chicago eight-piece brings the original into fresh light. I’d love to see these guys continue to push the limits of hip-hop, hopefully with the release of a new album or another feature like their one on Gorillaz’s Plastic Beach.
