How to Dress Well – “You Won’t Need Me Where I’m Goin'”

I’m going to try my best not to rant here, but the whole lo-fi movement, at times, really gets on my nerves. Many times, I can understand why artists use the equipment. It can add a certain warmth, extra noisy element, or mask certain less-than-perfect portions of the music. But there are times when it just sounds phony, useless, and overdone. Luckily for How to Dress Well, that’s not the case. His take on soul/indie-rock/folk makes for a listen that’s as intimate as Bon Iver’s For Emma, Forever Ago and as oddball as [enter successful lo-fi act here]. It also makes for something completely distinct and quite engaging. Hope you dig it.
