Hot Sugar – “Finale”

Sometimes there are cool songs, and sometimes there are cool concepts. Once in a blue moon, the two come together to create something completely out of this world. That is where Hot Sugar‘s “Finale” comes in, a sampling of Jim Jones’  last speech to the members of Jonestown. Jones is known for founding of the Peoples Temple, which was responsible for the mass suicide in 1978 that took the lives of 909 members in Guyana. Dealing with such a grim topic, Hot Sugar pulls from the speech drums and synthesizers, crafting a song that is totally indistinguishable from its original state. “Finale” has an infectious bounce to it, but it is held back by an eerie back story that continues to spook me every time I read about it.

Listen to “Finale” below and let us know what you think about the creepy workings of Hot Sugar.
