Hilarious: All Pop Music Is Too Loud & Sounds The Same

Do you ever find yourself listening (or overhearing) the radio and think to yourself, “This crap all sounds the same?” Well, there’s a good reason for that, get-off-my-lawn enthusiasts. A new study by the Spanish National Research Council listened to pop music from 1955-2010 and determined that songs have become louder and increasingly dull since the 1960s. Here’s a direct quote:

“We found evidence of a progressive homogenization of the musical discourse. In particular, we obtained numerical indicators that the diversity of transitions between note combinations – roughly speaking chords plus melodies – has consistently diminished in the last 50 years.”

Hahaha. Now, remember this whenever someone decides to put on the radio. Throw a CD or cassette in your player instead. Damn! [via]
