There has been so me controversy surrounding this film, but it looks like the Jimi Hendrix biopic is finally materializing this September when it makes its debut at the Toronto Film Festival. Today we get our first look at Andre 3000 playing the rock icon, even though it is a bit murky.
Unfortunately All Is By My Side will not be featuring any music that was written by Jimi, as the estate wouldn’t clear it. FACT reports music from artists like Muddy Waters and the Beatles will be performed instead, which were indeed in Hendrix’s performing repertoire.
as long as he gets his guitar-skills together it´ll be fine…
I´d hate to just see him simulate, because the most important part of acting like hendrix is his interaction with his guitar! Rhythmic spasms, guitar burning and further onstage-mayhem will result from that 😉
A movie about Hendrix without any of his music? Interesting.
