Grande Marshall is a young rapper/producer hailing from the city of brotherly love. I say the word young, but don’t be fooled, in spite of his short tenure on Earth so far he’s got some serious skill both behind the mic and on the boards. In the past year he’s shared a stage with A$AP Rocky, as well as just recently made a splash at inaugural Trillectro festival in DC. He’s released a string of songs here and there over the past few years, but his debut full length 800, a huge step in the right direction, is now available to the world. As his debut body of work, it’s clear he’s going places. From straight up in your face bars on “GODBPM” to laid back double-time flow on the lurching “Ellie Fox”, you’ll struggle to find a debut mixtape this promising in 2012.
