It’s been a few months now since the legendary Gil Scott-Heron released his highly acclaimed album, I’m New Here. Even though the album isn’t brand spanking new, it doesn’t mean we have to stop promoting. Thanks to IFC, we get this beautiful studio performance of Gil, playing the title track, “I’m New Here”. After several listens of Gil’s newest effort, I can’t help but admire how this man was able to release music that felt current, all the while keeping that signature sound in tact.
