Growing up in the ’90s, I had like this weird love for shit that I typically would have hated. Most of the time, it was the most absurd R&B/soul music, too, like Toni Braxton, R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, Boyz II Men, Ghost Town DJ’s, and the like. I know most of those acts are go-to guilty pleasures for most people, but they were like the uber guilty pleasures for me. While I was steady blasting Rage Against the Machine and other angsty alt. rock staples, I was playing those acts on the low. So it’s with that in mind that I was beyond gassed to see that fellow R&B-lover Balam Acab chose to remix Ghost Town DJ’s’ biggest hit, “My Boo”.
