I remember hearing a couple tracks from Ghibli a few months back and really looking forward to hearing more. It was electronic music that sampled choirs, which is a nice change of pace. Well, now the entire album Pythia is available and it turns out Ghibli is the new name for Thomas Michael, who formerly recorded as Jaded Hipster Choir. The album has more of those dark sounds that first attracted me to the music but there are also moments like “Mountain Time”, which sounds as if its sample source was an old disco record.
