Gayngs – “Cry”

Even though the term super-group is super-lame, it’s difficult to not apply that to Gayngs. The collective of upper-Midwest acts includes Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver), Doomtree’s P.O.S. and Dessa, and a slew of others. Perhaps more appropriate is indie-super-group? Anyway, “Cry” is one of Gayngs’ lead singles and, interestingly enough, it’s a cover. They tackle Godley & Creme’s song of the same name and even, apparently, covered the original video. I would like to say something snarky about this, but I can’t. “Cry” is a fantastic track and the video, though kind of cheesy, suits the song’s mood.
