Imagine if Passion Pit was never heard on a car commercial. Instead, they remained underground indie rock gems and none of those high school teenagers ever even had a chance to become “fans”. Thanks to the Santa Barbara, CA band, Gardens & Villa, we get a small glimpse at what could have been. Not to say, Gardens & Villa doesn’t stand a chance on their own! In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if this slowed-down soulful, pop outfit garners a bit of attention from the indie critics and mainstream hipsters within the coming months. And the best part about “Orange Blossum” is that it is only a b-side. That’s right, you can swoop the full 7″ now, thanks to Cool Summer Records. [via]
