We already knew Freddie Gibbs was hard, but “The Hard” ironically shows off his ability to balance his sound as he is accompanied by the soothing vocals of Dana Williams. Gangsta Gibbs’ lyrics remain gritty, of course, but the laid back drum breaks of Feb.9 help to polish off his sound quite nicely. With this track, Gibbs proves he can switch his sound up a bit, without losing any of that initial luster we fell in love with from prior efforts. Apparently this one will land on the Baby Face Killa album, which is coming soon.
