Freddie Gibbs Speaks On Split With Young Jeezy

Freddie GIbbs Freddie Gibbs Speaks On Split With Young JeezyFirst of all, the union between Freddie Gibbs and Young Jeezy never really made sense. I just couldn’t see Gibbs getting with the CTE brand. With that said, they have parted ways, and now Gibbs is revealing how things went down. Taking to the Morning Riot show, Freddie talks about how the two disagreed on a number of topic and how it was time for him to depart from Jeezy’s label. Here is what Freddie Gibbs had to say about the matter: [via]

“I can’t really say it was amicable. I could just say that we agreed to disagree. We definitely disagreed. The guy moves in a different way that I move, and I just wanted to branch out and do my own thing. I felt like I was wasting time pushing someone else’s brand when I could push my own and do my own thing. Because that’s was what he was concerned with, pushing Jeezy. So I gotta be concerned with pushing Gibbs.”

I think he just wanted the possible major label money, which, honestly, I don’t blame him.

I don’t know what Gibbs was expecting by signing to Old Jeezy.

Loss for Jeezy. I mean Freddie Gibbs has been doing his thing for the past few years in a big way. Sure he is not on many radio hits. but his music consistently top notch and he is recognized as a serious artist in the game. He spans into indie music and all sub-genres of hip hop sounds. Jeezy is pretty much ran out of thug motivation, at least in my opinion his music is beginning to grow old and he is no longer making waves in trap music as he used to. I feel like Gibbs is on many levels one of the better rappers without a proper album right now.
