As I write this, I realize that I don’t really give a damn what Frank Ocean‘s sexual preference is. What really matters is that he is comfortable with who he is, and his fans respect and support that. In a recent interview with GQ, Ocean reveals how he felt that night he published the famous Tumblr letter, saying, “the night I posted it, I cried like a fucking baby.” Which is certainly understandable, especially when you put yourself out there like the way he did a few months ago.
Among other things, Ocean speaks on a number of musical projects he is working on, including a new song he recorded for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Django Unchained. Also, Frank is working with Alicia Keys and Beyoncé on some new material, the first of which is undoubtedly going to be awful. I don’t care who you team Keys up with, the music will have no soul. I really hope they prove me wrong. Anyway, Frank Ocean also lets us in on his troubles with Def Jam, and how they have been restricting in a number of ways. Oh, and he plans on putting on a tour in Europe like the one Pink Floyd did for The Wall. Too bad I don’t live in Europe.
A great interview, indeed, which you can read in full here.
