You know, it might only be the fourth week of the third month of 2011, but I have a strong feeling that Frank Ocean’s Nostalgia, Ultra will be getting a ton of love on year-end lists. The dude just knows how to write great songs, period. There’s no questioning that. And the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All crooner has continued to display his knack for churning out killer tunes with this Nostalgia leftover called “Pyrite (Fool’s Gold)”. It’s a stripped-down, simplistic track that features just Ocean’s smooth vocals and an acoustic guitar. When you deliver and write melodies like this, who needs much more than that.
