Flying Lotus is a man of many sounds and they’re all fantastic. He’s inventive whether it be hip-hop, beat-driven, jazz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory elevator music or electronic mayhem. “Lullaby” starts like the rush to the emergency room or a parkour chase. Then ends in a crib as a mobile spins above. I’m seriously shitting myself by how it transforms so fluidly. You know, like from that scene in The Matrix, the lobby scene, hell fire, bad guys eating bullets to a cheerier Home Alone soundtrack. Amazing. Lotus’ other leak “Heave(n) mix 2” stays light. It tip-toes cloud cover. I know I talk a lot. Thankfully, this music walks the walk.
