Flashlight Tag Presents: Outside The Box Vol. 7 (4/26/12)

Outside The Box is a weekly roundup of electronic gems from the ever-growing SoundCloud & BandCamp community, brought to you by the Chicago-based music blog, Flashlight Tag.

Emerald Ruins – “Stay”

This 15 year old producer has somehow managed to stay pretty under the radar. He actually produced the track “NYU” (which features a killer sample from The Bilinda Butchers) for the bizarre, future-rap artist, Lil B. “Stay” is a whirling hip-hop instrumental that includes some lovely pan-flute samples.

LiL TExAS – “Off The Chain”

Here’s another homie from the weirdo trap/juke collective, M|O|D. LiL TExAS laid down this dirty footwork banger for the second M|O|D mixtape, which can you stream in full via PORTALS.

Ra Cailum – “Chimbus”

St. Louis native Ra Cailum (aka Anthony Engelhardt) has been diving into all sorts of experimental dance music as of late. His latest Chimbus EP is now streaming via Think 2wice Records. Also be sure to check out his collab track with the rising Moombathon producer, Jay Fay (Mad Decent approved).
